Today is World Cleanup Day and all along the coasts throughout the world volunteers litter pick to tidy our shores.
On the Yorkshire Coast, with its quaint little waterfall, Hayburn Wyke at first glance from high above on the Cleveland Way looks to be clean but between the large beach boulders and stones are the tiniest pieces of polystyrene, tangles of wrack and discarded fishing line, and shreds of plastic bags. The flotsam and jetsam of our modern lives.
