Last year we attended a public meeting with Daniel Bye and Boff Whalley to discuss what Roseberry Topping means to the local community.
Daniel is an Associate Artist at the ARC, Stockton-on-Tees and Boff is a musician and writer best known as a member of the band Chumbawamba and a fellow fell runner.
We shared our thoughts and feelings towards the hill with the view that Dan and Boff would write a song in celebration.
Just before the lockdown Dan, Boff and musician Beccy Owen led the group from the ARC to the summit of Roseberry. Unfortunately, I couldn’t make the event. I wasn’t too disappointed, singing is not my cup of tea anyway, and I wouldn’t have fancied walking along the roads of Teesside.
Anyway, here is that song, These Hills Are Ours: A Song for Roseberry Topping.
