Stop that pigeon

Headed over to Skinningrove to see the progress of the building of the annual bonfire. The structure is complete and the call has gone out for the local folk to bring along “combustible” materials to fill it out but this seems to have caused a bit of confusion judging by the fridge freezer dumped on the pile. There has been a bonfire at Skinningrove every year since 1982 except for 2000 and 2013 when it was cancelled due to flooding. And every year there is a theme, chosen to celebrate local heritage; this year it’s a pigeon, a tribute to the popular pastime of pigeon fancying. Pigeon coops or crees align the steep slopes of the valley.
